Comments: Good start. A little faster than I was hoping to do, so very happy with this leg. Sadly every calf I saw pass me was in my AG. Luckily those two guys took overall and Master's honors and left me the AG. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Transition 1
Comments: Miserably bad T1. Fumbled shoes. Fumbled helmet strap. Just bad overall. What would you do differently?: Everything. Bike
Comments: Pretty disappointed in this leg. A bit faster than last year, but should have been significantly better than that. Not many bikers around where I was. I managed to get passed a few times. I don't remember passing any in my wave. Other than that it was typical Oak Mountain. Not much chance to get into a rhythm. Turned too wide at the turnaround. Power Meter crapped out. I believe the batteries finally died. Would have been nice to capture that - oh well. What would you do differently?: More watts. Less huffing and puffing. Lose gut. Transition 2
Comments: Calf cramped a bit. Fumbled shoes. Ran past my spot and had to reverse back. Pretty bad all around. What would you do differently?: Pretty much everything. Run
Comments: Had to stop for a couple seconds to stretch out calf in first few hundred yards. It behaved after that. The first part of the course was uphill and I struggled mightily there. After that it got better. Second half was much better than the first half, for whatever reason. The last part of the course is back downhill. Felt great to ramp off of that hill on the way home. Again very happy with this leg. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Post race
Warm down: Nothin'. What limited your ability to perform faster: Biking legs. Transition skills. Last updated: 2011-03-07 12:00 AM
