Run
Comments: SO my training has been really poor for the last 3 weeks due to being out of town, sick and just not wanting to train. SO I started mid pack with my wife and thought I would just take it real easy and see how things went. Well I started way to far back and people were just barely moving and the start was real congested so I ran on the sides alot for the first 2 miles and began picking up the pace. Felt pretty good and since I had run this course the year before I know it was uphill on the way out and downhill coming back. Just stayed within myself the first half and really pushed on the way back. Had a negative split by 2 and 1/2 minutes. It was also a head wind going out so I sat behind some guys and let them block the wind for me. At mile 9 my IT band on both legs were getting tight and I really tried to ignore them and just run. Did some butt kicks to try and loosen them up but to no avail. Tracked down a guy I had been following the whole race only to have him repass me in the final 1/4 mile. Of well, not sure if he started ahead of me or not. My chip time and gun time were 30 seconds apart. Pretty good race with my current training. WOuld have like to be sub 1:30 but no chance today. What would you do differently?: Train Post race
Warm down: Beers, food, chatting with friends. What limited your ability to perform faster: Training Event comments: Very good race, the weather was just right other than the wind and congested start. Well run. Last updated: 2011-02-20 12:00 AM
