I had a great race but looking as some of the results there are some insanely fast dudes out there. Lots of work to do if I ever want to podium my AG. Or, I just need to do smaller races in obscure locations.
or, pick small races where there are no race officials so you can get away with drafting, like some people i know... No kidding, I should get my brother to take up triathlon! Adam's 8min combined bike penalty proves that justice delayed isn't always justice denied. He even posted about it on FB, and I am not done making comments about it to him. I think it's freakin' awesome they got busted, those two cheat so bad it's unbelievable. |

Elite 3221 the desert | Subject: RE: Marquee Roll Call I think they turned what was a little disappointed into a very good DU. Course distances seemed spot on and was very well marked. Transition area was not over crowded and seperation for distances was a good call. Great event. (however, and there's always a however, do we have to finish on through that grass section? I totally hate that - would rather run on the sidewalk and loop back around to the street.) |

On the way to the finish line along the lake, I wish they would have put some cones or something. I was worried I was off course for a period of time. Also, when I got to the final turn where the Half/Oly met with the sprint there was no sign or anything. Would have been nice to have an arrow there. I had to ask the spectators which way. Otherwise I agree. They pulled it off pretty well. |

Yeah, I was heading up the Beeline and saw Taddonio and not too far behind him was what I thought was two dudes on a tandem. When I passed them I realized it wasn't a tandem but the Folts train. I'm glad they got busted; they were sucking each other's wheel the whole race. |

Funny enough, he's not even denying it, he's just complaining he wasn't notified on course! What a douche. He got dinged for drafting and twice for failure to drop back when overtaken. Classic. I can't get on FB here at work, but I can't wait to get home and bury him. Edited by bryancd 2011-04-11 11:33 AM |

I was hoping to draft off you Mirg, but I was too slow to keep up. |

Expert 937 | Subject: RE: Marquee Roll Call When I saw the two guys on the motorcycle, I was hoping that they were going to do something about the drafting. I saw Elliot once and he was the only one in his group that was off to the side of the train (not drafting). It really doesn't effect my race since I'm very slow but the rules for me also apply to top finishers. I was looking for someone to draft off of but I was out there by myself for almost the whole race. I guess that means I'm either very fast or very slow |

Master 1484 Sedona, AZ | Subject: RE: Marquee Roll Call Is that what the guys on the motorcycle were for? Freaked the hell out of me when they pulled up just off my left side and hung out! There was no one around me or anything. Then I thought 'this is just like the TdF! They're taking pictures and video of me like I'm in a solo breakaway!' Then they pulled away with no cameras or anything. I was very disappointed, I was wearing my 'race grimace' for nothing. |

I wondered the same thing Tim. Had the motorcycle along side me for a few hundred yards, and the guy on the back seemed to be writing stuff on a notepad. I got worried but realized I was at least 5-8 lengths behind the next bike up. Just figured they were cruising around the course then and he was writing something else he saw. I am not fast enough to worry about drafting - it is nice in training but on races I prefer to have space around me. Plus I do not get as many odd looks as I talk to myself when I am cramping or tired. |

I should get on BT more, I'm new multi-sport and sounds like there's a great tri community out in AZ, I live in SoCal but took the opportunity to get a look at the IMAZ course. Looks like I'll see some of you out on the course in November and probably did yesterday too. What an awesome AG field yesterday, definitely was very impressed! |

Expert 937 | Subject: RE: Marquee Roll Call My race report is up. If you want to change your race report to a run-bike-run format, at the top of the race report it says type of race- triathlon. You just need to change that to duathlon. It took me a few minutes to find out how to do it but it's very easy.
