Sullivan was my first triathlon ever 2 years ago. The weather was 80 degrees and the wind was INSANE! I had just bought my road bike 3 weeks before the race and I was pretty sure I was going to blow over. I think I only averaged 14 mph for the ride LOL

Last year I raced it again - the weather did not improve!

3rd time is the charm right?!

Yep, finally signed up a few weeks ago.  I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that the wind is below 15mph.

It's not going to be windy this year!

Yeah right! lol, wouldn't be Sullivan without the wind.  I'll be back again this year, as always.

I shall be back again. Signed up early because it was pretty cheap for first tri of the year.

However...I have the Illinois Marathon the day before. Lets just see how that goes.

I probably should email monty and tell him to change my swim time.

Dang, there went my chance for a better place this year HAHA.  O well, This bike route will be easier for first timers.  So if its windy, no hills to worry about.

I didn't really love the old route anyway. Hated that little stretch along the highway with all the traffic and gravel on the shoulder.

Just saw the change.  Sounds like he really didn't have much choices on how to change the course.

Thanks for the heads up.  Just checked it out myself.  Will make for a shorter ride, but like you said, doesn't appears he has much choice.

I live near by, the old road actually has a few sections tore up from side to side.  People would have been unhappy with OFFROAD sections haha.

trigal38 - 2011-04-28 1:22 PM Looks like the same type of weather we had last year.

Looks a might bit cooler.  Not much.

Then again, this forecast has changed at least 3 times in the last 3-4 days.  Hopefully it will move warmer, not cooler.  As to the rain, meh.  Doesn't bother me. I've done enough of them in rain to not bother me anymore.

And it looks like the weather is not only going to hold out but it looks like the wind isn't going to be too bad.  Looks like a nice day for racing.  You there all there.  Leaving in about 45 minutes.

Yep knock on wood the weather looks ok, no complaints.

We should be leaving in an hour +

Hey, look for a guy with a red running cap and black Nike long sleeved top and a goatee.  That will be me.  And if you miss that, I'll be wearing a black, grey and white Sugoi tri top, a peachy orange swim cap and starting fairly close to the front (6:15 projected time).  Come and say hi.

Look for me too! Black tri shorts and a blue tri top with a huge flower on it, dark brown hair pulled back in a pony tail.

Of course I don't know why I just typed all that since everyone is probably gone already

That was the best weather I've ever raced in at Sullivan! I loved the bike course too. Hope you all had a fun race.
