Subject: I love my Cyclocross bike

I just wanted to share feelings about my new love. Her name is Scott Team CX (I know... I know... it's not a very feminine name).  This weekend I had a great 65km ride in the country. I didn't have to worry about the potholes and broken up pavement, train tracks and bits of sharp junk left behind by the snowmelt. I took a small detour off-road and visited one of my favorite swim lakes (the ice is gone! yay!). Its not quite as fast as my Tri bike but I can still keep up with the less hard-core roadies. 

In case you're looking for a second bike to compliment your tri bike - my vote is for a CX bike.

I hear you, Mark.

I bought a Giant TCX 2 two years ago that is my main mode of transportation in the Pacific NW. 

It came with Kenda cyclocross tires that I eventually replaced with Bontrager 700x23 tires for faster riding when I'm on pavement.  I also keep fenders on it year round for the ever present rain, mainly during the winter.

I've found its the perfect all around bike - fast on the roads, great hill climber and has the ability to be a very practical commuter with the addition of panniers.

I love my CX bike so much i am fitting a front disc brake to it right now. It is taking some engineering, but it will be cool when i am done.  Oh yeah, that also required new wheels....hehe, i love buying wheels!!!!

I love mine too.  I used it as a communter last year, and yesterday was the first commute of this year.  Don't sweat the name.  My girl is named "Rocky" mountain solo cxd.  She came with discs which is a real treat when I am coming to a quick stop fully loaded with dual drybag panniers, breakfast, lunch, work clothes, emergency tools, two water bottles, and a laptop!.  That's one heavy girl!

Mine came from bonktown for about 800 after shipping.  Fully assembled.
