Total Time = 1h 10m 48s
Overall Rank = 13/129
Age Group = 20-24
Age Group Rank = 1/11
Pre-race routine:

Up early, ate an apple and oatmeal, drank a probiotic shake...
Event warmup:

Walked the transitions, stretched.
Swim
  • 06m 29s
  • 400 yards
  • 01m 37s / 100 yards
What would you do differently?:

Focus more - I was too busy worrying about where everyone was in front of and behind me because of the interval start that it interfered with my turns, breathing, and my stroke.
Transition 1
  • 01m 48s
Comments:

I was still deciding whether I was going to wear a shirt over my suit or not while I was running to my bike. The runs from the pool to the bike and then out the gate were relatively long.
What would you do differently?:

Reconned better and not pick a bike slot on the complete opposit end of the TA from the exit...
Bike
  • 45m 14s
  • 12 miles
  • 15.92 mile/hr
Comments:

This was my weakest segment, which I knew going into the race.
What would you do differently?:

Train on the bike more and focus on hills in the future.
Transition 2
  • 01m 43s
Run
  • 15m 36s
  • 2 miles
  • 07m 48s  min/mile
Comments:

This is a good run time for me. I felt slow and weak, but my time was fine and far better than I expected.
What would you do differently?:

So thirsty...
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around for awhile until the race was over - I started earliest so I had a long time to wait.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Training on the bike.

Event comments:

Great little race for Oklahoma - I wish there were some longer ones that I could use as training races, but you take what you can get in the middle of nowhere. It was well organized, though.

Swimming
00:06:29 | 400 yards | 01m 37s / 100yards
Age Group: 1/11
Overall: 1/129
Performance: Good
Suit: Orca trisuit
Course: 400 yard pool swim...we were released by reported 400 yard times in 10 second intervals and swam down, switched lanes and went back, then came down the other side, switched lanes and went back, etc...it was complicated for the later starters just because of the confusion with reported times, but since I started at the front I didn't get bogged down. My flip turns were awful and I felt slow, but ended up doing just fine. Time includes the wade out of the shallow end and the run to the TA.
