Pre-race routine:

Got up at 4am for the drive to Aiken from Greenville. Ate my bagel with PB on the road and washed it down with Gatorade and CarboPro.

Probably my worst swim yet. It was my first OWS of the year and I was trying my new technique and it didn't really work, but I wanted to stick with it. With the exception of the last 300-500m I never felt comfortable.
What would you do differently?:

Practice my new technique. I learned it three weeks ago. It will take time, but I know it will be effective.

Pretty good bike for me. My goal was to average over 20mph, which I did. My legs felt a little dead for the first 3-4 miles, but loosened up. Cracked the 40mph mark again. That's fun :)

Train more.

Good T2. Wore socks which slowed me down, but I still got a blister on my right foot. Ouch!
What would you do differently?:

Get used to not wearing socks with my New Balance shoes.

My goal for this run was to keep the pace under 8 minutes and I did. I was very happy with that. I beat my previous time by almost 4 minutes! That's a ton for me!!! Very happy!!

Run faster next time!!

Talked with Matt M. Grabbed some fruit snacks and cookies and loaded up the car because I had to teach a golf lesson at 2pm.

Very well done! Sorry the swim did not go as planned but that is not a bad time. You might try liquid bandage on the spot where you got the blister next time.
