Comments: went out faster than wanted to, but the race got the best of me so i committed to it. i postive splitted by 1:10, but part of that was due to stopping to drink at miles 6 & 8 which i did not do at 2 and 4, but my hip started to fight me at mile 8.5. i enjoyed the mental fight with it though. ton of rain the previous few days, so as the morning heated up, it became very humid which snuck up on people. What would you do differently?: not run on the injury. warm up much better. get a better cool down, but did ok with that. Post race
Warm down: 1 1/2 12 oz bottles of water, banana, muscle milk light and small cliff bar. What limited your ability to perform faster: hip and bad warm up. still ran faster than i expected. woke up at 5:45. bowl of grape nuts flakes, banana, water and 5 hour energy. drove 30 minutes to race. ate a cliff bar mini pre-race along with half a G2 and sips of water.
stretched fairly well, but nothing in the way of jogging or warming up, which was a problem post race. suffered hip injury on Thursday that required and X ray but persisted to run the race, but didn't want to push it pre-race.
