I'd like to, as it's a fun little race and only 5-10min from my house. However, I'm doing Captex the same weekend. Though I am slightly tempted to do Combat on Saturday and then Captex on Monday.

Looks like I'll be at Combat on Saturday.  I was originally planning on CapTex, but my in-laws chose that weekend to come into town and I've been told by the wife that I'm not driving to Austin!

I'll be there.  I've done it the last 3 years. It's a fun race.

Pretty sure your coach would think this is a BAD idea to do races so close together like that. Might want to check with him : P What's with the dots on the profile pic? You need an OUL one?

I'll be there!  Gotta shake the cobwebs off and get in my first Tri of the season.  I've never done this one, but it sounds like fun!

Just realize this is a pool swim.  Very disappointing.  Might sit it out and go out for an OWS practice swim instead.

Swim is a swim, pool swim is more technical than OW anyhow. Good race to test the fitness.

Who needs OW practice anyhow? If you're comfortable om OW, you're comfortable.

That's just it; I'm not comfortable in OW.  Except for Ironstar, I took last year completely off from triathlon, so since 2009 I have exactly 1 OWS under my belt...

Get your butt down to some of the HRTC Splash n dashes (next one is the 3rd) or the OUL Aquathons. Great for OW swim/race practice! Quick, short little race. They really help in my opinion.

Hadn't heard of those before.  Sounds like a perfect solution.  Thanks!

Just putting in a good word for this race in case someone searches for it in the future. My wife and 10yo son relayed it, and my other son and I volunteered. Great small race w/a very beginner-friendly pool swim. We worked the finish and we could tell people really had fun out there, despite the windy bike and the hot run.

Also, having participated in races directed by 4 different local organizers, I just have to say how fortunate we are to have so many great races in the Houston area. Each RD puts a little different spin/flavor on the race, but they are all fun and well-run.
