Crowny you'll laugh. I wasn't even prepared for the second loop, much less the extra for miles. I had my feet out of my shoes already rolling into the end of the first lap thinking I was done on the bike. I agree with the things being said about the great time had by all, regardless of the long bike.

HA!  That is pretty funny.  I haven't had that happen before, but that must have been quite a shock to the system.

I saw that 2nd lap in time to switch over but hadn't taken my feet out of my shoes.  When it came time to finishing the 2nd lap, I think I was told by someone 20 feet from the dismount line where the dismount line was.  Instead of getting my feet out of my shoes, I ended up hobbling with my shoes on to transition.

Unfortunately I didnt finish Frown  Started the swim in wave 4 back of the pack like I always do, outside.  About a 200 meters into it the guy next to me started gasping and saying he couldnt breathe, so I stopped with him and the jet skis were all on the inside, so he had to wait until all the swimmers in wave 5 came by.  I did not mind one bit stopping to sit with this guy, I would make it up on the bike.  But the wait for the jet ski put me a full ten minutes behind everyone else, so I finished dead last in the swim.  Had a blow out on the first loop and had my re occuring hip problems pop up so I didnt even bother the run and dropped out!  I liked the set up, did not like how the swim course was set up, bouys (?) could have been marked bigger especially the turn around and jet skis could have been outside and inside at least marking somewhat of a boundry.  Other than that, I liked the bike, though it was a bit longer, the weather cooperated with us.  I will do it again next year.

One last thing, did anyone get there feet all scratched up coming in from the swim?  I didnt notice until I was drying my feet off at the transition area, wondering where the blood was coming from. Really didnt notice until I got home and my left foot is pretty cut up.

I had 28 miles on my computer when I was done with the bike. I'm not sure what's going on with the swim times, but I know I wasn't in T1 for 12 minutes.

Great time at the race.  The bike was definitely close to four miles too long, but this was a last minute decision for me to do this race, and I had a blast.  This was my first oly, and just wanted to take one easy before Bigfoot in a few weeks.  I'll definitely run this one again next year, and maybe they'll have the little kinks out on that bike by then.

Did I miss an announcement or some other informational bulletin?  I was in Wave 4 but didn't know it until I overheard someone say Wave 4 is age group 40-49.  It was a little disconcerting given I learned this standing and waiting at the entrance to the pier.

If there was one, I missed it too. Figured out at the last minute I needed to jump into wave 3.
