Subject: Race tool kit???

Ok, I just talked to a guy who did the HIM I have in 2 1/2 weeks and he told me he got 3 flats on the bike course! First of all that tells me he didn't clear the problem the first time but it got me thinking....... I could not change 3 flats because I only carry two CO2's. So how much do you carry for a HIM? As of now I have:

1 tube

2 co2's

a few patches

and tools...

What do you carry?

1 tube
1 quik stik
2 CO2 cartridges
1 inflator
pack of tire boots (they come in 3s but however many are left)
couple glueless patches

That's it.

You can find them cheaper but this is what it is:

It's easier to use than a tire lever and I tend only to use one of those. This doesn't pinch flat near as easily though.

I'm actually rethinking my kit, but this is what I currently carry for anything longer than an oly:
1 tube
1 air chuck
1 CO2
1 lever
Loosely thread the chuck on and tape it to keep it from spinning until needed.  Tape everything together and tape the whole bundle (which isn't very big) under my saddle in between the rails. I don't carry a repair kit for sprints.

If I flat twice or pull a Wellington, SAG wagon.

I used to use the Quick Stick and then I discovered the Crank Bros Speed Lever.  I've got tube changing down to just a couple of minutes or less if I'm motivated.

A couple of patches and a tire boot and I am covered for flats.

I'm carrying for HIM (I don't carry anything for <=Oly Dis)

1 Tube

Tire Irons

1 Co2

1 nozzle

If I flat twice or have problems worse than a standard flat, I'm no longer worried about time and just how to get back...lol

After two CO2's is when I  pull out the cell phone.
