Comments: Stitch @ 7K, otherwise uneventful. As usual, lots more downhill first half, so I was faster 1st half. Some rough spots 2nd half. Fastest - 1st K - 4:33. Slowest - 9th K - 5:17. 7th and 9th were the only K slower than 5', all others were sub 5'. Very happy, even though I haven't been doing any speedwork. What would you do differently?: Remember my Gatorade so I don't have to stop for their water. Post race
Warm down: Walked around, stretched while lining up for Mcd coffee. Event comments: PB by almost a min, which was set at the 1998 Sporting Life 10K! There were only 1,300 participants then. Today, ~13,000 people running down Yonge St, now Canada's largest run! Age Group Rank = 21/372. Top 6th percentile in my AG. VERY HAPPY! P.S. - Now that I've a little time to reflect on my PB, I'm even more stoked. To think that I set a PB today that has stood for 13 years, since I was 37 in 1998, and now at age 50, I finally broke 50min for 10k for the first time!! I feel I can retire now, and never have to do this race again. Also, according to Garmin, my time is 48:48, course is long. So I went not just sub 50, but sub 49!! Last updated: 2011-04-23 12:00 AM

First Sporting Life 10K for hubby. He drove and we parked on Yonge St, as usual.
2 bites of Mcd muffin and 1/4 cup coffee. Got there 45' before race, went to Starbucks washroom, no lineup. Forgot my Gatorade at home, and ended up buying a small bottle of water @ Timonthy's.
A few strides while at our corral.
