I am!!! I'm very excited even though I haven't really trained for it. I'll be running for fun! Hopefully it won't be blazing hot!

I'm bailing this year since my 1/2 IM is the next weekend but I'll still be out and around the course supporting all my friends.  Keep an eye out for the Hasher beer station between miles 5 and 6 accross from the KOA campground.  Stop by and grab a cold refreshing brew!!!

I'm running it for fun also.....my brother, his wife and I have made a pact to try to do this every year for the hell of it. Convenient time since that's when we do the big family get together back home in Vee Bee.

I'll be looking out for the beer, Joel!

Oh yeah, I just got my confirmation packet today, and I'm in corral #6....where is everyone else? I don't even remember what WE put in for our estimated finish times for that corral. I hope I don't get run over....I think last year I was in something like 10!

I'm also doing this one for "fun", but have a secret goal I'd like to hit...we'll see, haven't really trained for this one.  Hubby and I are corral 5, I'm bib #5220...we are trying to make this an annual event as  well-last year we got pre-empted by a hurricane here and couldn't leave, year before friends got married and we were all in the wedding, and now I have a friend who is planning on getting married next labor day weekend!  GRRRRR.

I am in, but I am also doing this for fun. My training over the Summer has been inconsistent, but I better get going because the Richmond Full is only 10 weeks away. I don't know what corral. I have my confirmation but I haven't opened it yet.

Have fun everybody!

I'm way back in corral 16 (yes, I'm very slow ). Maybe we should pick a spot on the beach to meet after the race, any thoughts?

I'm in also. It'll be my first race of any kind this year and first running-only race since '89. I signed up as motivation to keep running/losing weight, and it worked. The goal is just to run/jog the whole thing. I have a question for you experienced racers: Does it REALLY matter that I was overly optomistic about my finish time and ended up in a 2:00 corral (#11) when 2:15-ish is more realistic? I'll get it changed if I should.

If I remember from previous years it is pretty easy to move back into higher number corrals; I don't think you even need to officially do it, you just enter a higher numbered corral on race morning; double check when you pick up your packet. They mostly try to control people trying to move into the faster corrals.

Mmm...sounds good!  Just let me know where to be!  How do ya'll already know what corral you're in?  Is it posted on the website?  I think I estimated my finish time to be 2:06, but I don't think I'll be running at that pace.  I haven't trained much for this race.

Sue-you're from VA Beach-are you familiar with the race set-up?  Maybe you can help pick a meet-up place near the finish?  Wonder if anyone would be willing to make a little sign?

After you get through the finish line and get your medal there are the food and the beer tents and they have alphabet markers on the sand so you can meet up with friends and family. All we need to do is pick a letter, maybe B for BT. If someone had a family member with a sign that would be great. My hubby is also doing the race so we won't be able to bring a sign. Anyone?

I nominate 3558 to be there with a sign (burrito related of course) if he's at the race.  I know he's not running it so that would be perfect!

We're actually planning to be there all afternoon.  We got a special events license for the day so we can carry our beer around all we want.  If anyone is interested we are running a very short trail from that location at 2pm...should be fun.  Lots more beer of course!  I'll probably be in and out through the day.  I', planning to bring my mt bike and cruise around the course to cheer on my friends who are running.  If you happen to stop for a beer either during or after the race ask for Bionic...actually, they'd know who TH3 FRB is too   Good luck to everyone!  Oh yeah...they have official race beer at the finish of the race too.

That's ok 3558- I think I can recruit run4yrlife to be the sign boy.  Don't get jealous.

Hey all- I noticed that they are going to have amino-vital at the race.  Does anyone know how that compares with Gatorade, Utlima, Accelerade, etc??  Just curious.

They usually have Power Gel at one station around the 9 mile mark...not sure what the gel of choice is this year but as I remember from last year, mile 9-10 was a bit late to fuel up so you might consider carrying your own gel...or just double up at the Hasher beer stop
