peanut butter toast, banana, latte miel
Event warmup:

Swam a 150
Swim
  • 07m 36s
  • 500 yards
  • 01m 31s / 100 yards
Comments:

Felt good. Easy
Transition 1
  • 03m 23s
Comments:

VERY SLOW! I had to add 700 layers to make sure the gusting wind didn't make me cold! It's hard to pull tights on a wet body!
What would you do differently?:

I would say not wear tights, but I appreciated having them
Bike
  • 52m 51s
  • 13.7 miles
  • 15.55 mile/hr
Comments:

Holy Wind Batman! The crosswinds on the way back were hard. I had to lean right so I didn't blow over. Going into the wind I was surprised I wasn't at a negative speed! With the wind at my back I really pushed it. But - considering the wind, I think I actually did well on this.
What would you do differently?:

Control the wind????
Transition 2
  • 01m 12s
Comments:

not bad. I did pull my coat off as I thought I would be too hot.
What would you do differently?:

I don't think I would have done anything different
Run
  • 26m 31s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 08m 33s  min/mile
Comments:

I felt well on this run. I could have pushed it a little bit more. There was a dude just in front of me, but I didn't push hard enough to pass him.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing really - sore ankle and tweaked knee - my q race for the year -- I think it was good
Post race
Warm down:

waiting for Wade to get in -- froze my patootie off! iced my knee at home and used my stick to loosen my left leg

What limited your ability to perform faster:

the wind, lack of bike fitness, taking it a little too easy on the run - oh - perhaps my slowest possible transition???

Event comments:

A really well-run race. Organized. I enjoy it. Especially since I went to college at UWW. I always enjoy going back.

Way to go out there today.  That wind was really brutal. Just getting through it was a challenge.

Nice to have fellow UWW alums out there! Campus sure has changed hasn't it.

It certainly has changed!  Looking at your picture - did we swim together at UWW? I swam 1 year - not very well and it certainly was more than I asked for - I think the 90-91 season was when I swam.  There weren't many of us girls that year.

We must have.  I swam Fall of 89 to Spring of 93. You need to get a picture in here!

Wendy Ternes - I know I have to get a picture.  Everytime I try to upload one, it doesn't work!  I saw your race report - we did swim together.  I was - still am good friends with Tricia Underwood!
