Subject: Hi from Alaska

Hello all.   Well, it's been a long road but the time to compete is here(May 21st, sprint).  After loosing over 75 lbs and building a great foundation in resistence training at the local fitness center, I am ready to SwimBikeRun.  In the past year I have overcome an MCL sprain x-country skiing, shoulder injury, and a few other set-backs.  My first swimming lesson is tomorrow, and I'm well on my way to building a solid foundation in the other two events.   Nice to meet you all!  Hope to learn a lot from everyone's experiences and share a few of my own.

Cheers,

John

Hi John, welcome to BT and triathlon, and super congrats on your fitness accomplishments!

ummm ... quick question ... you do know how to swim, right? by that I mean you can float and move forward in some way? I guess what I'm asking is if the swimming lesson is for technique and form rather than how not to drown in a body of water.

By the way, our mentor program is awesome for first-timers and people new-ish to the sport ... check it out!
