Swim
Comments: Shortened swim due to wind and chop. Course moved to north of transition. Transition 1
Comments: Long run (.54mile) on sidewalk due to changed swim course. This isn't my strong point. Was extremely hungry coming out of water so I went into my tri bag and found a harvest bar. This took some time. What would you do differently?: Better pre-race nutrition. Bike
Comments: Good ride for me. Started tiring out at about mile 22. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Transition 2
Run
Comments: Went out feeling fine at a moderate pace. I felt that I would pick up pace as I went along but lost my energy by the mid point. Slowed down and couldn't get back into the rythym. I was expecting to do 8:45-9:00 minute miles based on my training. What would you do differently?: Better pre-race nutrition. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: I don't think I ate properly the day before. Had a big breakfast and then didn't eat anything until about 4pm. The morning of the race I barely ate anything. At race start I was starving and even felt the hunger pain during the swim. Last updated: 2011-05-06 12:00 AM
