Has anyone stayed at the campground in previous years?  What did you think of the place?

How difficult is it for spectators to get from the start to T1/T2 to the run to the finish areas without a vehicle?  If we drive down in the motor home, my wife and 2 boys will have their bikes but no car.

What are the "must do" things in Miami?  We will be heading down early Saturday morning and heading out sometime on Monday.

Thanks BTers.

I have never stayed at Campground, but I have done the race a few times and if I remeber correctly, the site is only about 3/4 of a mile from finish/transition area.   You pass the campground on the run (2 loops) so they could even hang out there.   Great course and race, expecially for later in the season.  There is A LOT to do in Miami, but most of it will be a good drive from the race site.   You are also close to Key Largo which is a great place to go if extending trip.

I raced the event last year.  I had my family (kids 6 and 8) in tow - at the park where the race is held there is a small playground next to the transition area and the finish line.  The campground is also very close (as previous poster said - you run through it) but my wife and kids went off to explore Miami MetroZoo while I was racing - there is a shuttle you can get to/from the Zoo entrance : they saw me while I was running which was great.

We had a great time in Miami generally - we stayed near the Park/Zoo area but explored Miami Beach one day and also took a bit of a tour of the neighbourhoods.  We rented a car though.

The race was my first HIM - I thought it was a really well-organised event.
