It's not too far from where I live, so I thought I'd schedule it in for fun.  But after seeing the registration fee and the online registration extra $5 charge and the extra $8 charge for a t-shirt I'm thinking screw that.

Is this a big bunch of BS, or standard?  I just can't believe they want me to pay $70 to register for it, then charge me extra for a t-shirt and another $5 extra because I'm signing up online (I didn't see any other option).  It's only a sprint too, not like a long race or anything!

I think $70 is kinda high for short course. I'm not fan of online registration fee. Probably run by  capitalists.

46 mile swim across Warner Lake
15 mile bike through rural, well marked roads will beautiful scenery of rolling hills and fields.
3.1 mile run finishing at Warner Lake Park

If the race fee was a lot lower than most, and they were doing it more "ala carte" to save money for those who don't care about t-shirts, for instance, I would understand... but $70???  Wow.

I have been sending in more registrations via the mail as each year goes by, instead of less, due to the fees.  There's one organization that says "online registration preferred" but offers mail-in, so one time I sent a note that said I preferred online too but wasn't going to pay for it   They also used an international vendor that caused me to pay for a currency exchange fee on my credit card!  Don't think so...
