...but do you think they'd up hotel rates for the race like LP or CdA?

This is NYC.  Of course!!!

I don't know.  Sounds cool being in NYC and, for me, logistics wouldn't be too bad (less than 2hrs away, have places I could stay, etc).  But, in the end, not sure it's really something I'd be all that excited to do.  Especially for the price I expect they will charge.

moriatesg - 2011-05-11 8:25 AM They can pool it off but who would want to swim in the east river or Hudson for 2.4 miles.

They can use the floating corpses for marker bouys.

Ha ha... yes definitely was admiring bits of trash in there this am.

Seriously though.... took me like 18 minutes to swim .9 miles in that river and I am NOOOOT a FOP swimmer

Yeah, baby, I can handle a few dead bodies for that!

The timing is unfortunate, because I just saw an article a couple of weeks ago that said that the NYPD was going to begin charging organizers more for overtime and street closures for things like road races and other festivals in an effort to close the budget gap.

Honestly, a full IM sounds ambitious, but a 70.3 would be really easy. I’ve said for years that an IM70.3 Brooklyn would be a blast—the swim and run could be at the Coney Island Boardwalk and finish at the Cyclone’s minor league baseball stadium and the bike could go out and back on the Belt Parkway, which is pretty flat.

Brooklyn is dangerous what with you and Kristin there. Yikes.
