Hey all you BTers.......... who is doing this race and are you pumped yet?  This has always been on my 'bucket list' of races since I started in triathlons in 2007 and I am very excited to do it this year.  Traveling almost 3000 miles to take the 'plunge' and climb 'the ladder'!   Looking forward to Escaping June 5th!

Any tips from race veterans?

Brad

you should do a search under "race reports" for specific reports, and try hitting up those who have do this race..  I was born and raised in San Francisco but such a chicken to the open ocean, that I have never attempted this race...  Good luck..

Is anyone planning a swim on Friday evening or Saturday at Aquatic Park?  I'd love to do a quick swim prior to minimize race day water temp shock.  18 days......

Well, I'll be there...a Saturday pre-swim sounds like a great plan. If anyone else wants to coordinate that, let's do it - I'm coming from Oklahoma and it will be nice to know people in San Fran.

What time on Saturday? I might be interested in trying a swim too.

I'm coming from Austin Texas I'm sure the water temperature is going to be a shock to me :-)

I can be contacted at [email protected]

Should be a fun race!

Looks like this could be a cold and wet race on Sunday.  Should make it even more challenging.  Looking forward to it.

Hey guys, I'm flying out tomorrow from New York, very excited. I planned this one rather last minute on a charity spot for Team Cindy, have never done the fundraising and needed a new challenge. I'm swimming on Friday, and then likely very short (15 mins) on Saturday on the early side. I want to acclimate a bit to the water without overdoing it. I had a bike crash monday and a very stiff neck as a result, who knows what the frigid temps will do!

first of all, Good luck to all you BTers
I live in the SF area and will be on the course cheering other competitors on for this race...what are your bib numbers? and colors of tri suit or jersey you are racing in? I will be in the NOISY section with a large group of spectators who will have cowbells, clappers, pool noodles and whistles.

Wow, this was a great race, missed meeting up with everyone for the practice swim on Saturday morning and really regretted it Sunday morning, the water was colder than my Monterey Bay swim on Thursday.

Where was "grilpassingonthleft" on the course?  There were some great spectators out there.  On the run I was wearing a black and red top with "Bonzai" on it, red Ironman visor.

I'll be posting my race report on the race report thread in a few.
