Comments: Official Chip time: 4:59.03 http://mtecresults.com/runner/show?rid=2594&race=317 It was a mile. I ran my butt off. Went out way too fast with the first 1/4 in 1:09 (or I thought that but my garmin shows the time listed), then 2:35 by 1/2 and then I was hurting too bad to care what my splits were and just tried to hang on to break 5 minutes:-P I guess I negative split my back half but my second 1/4 was slow or my splits are jacked up (good possibility). But, I broke 5 min mile on my first mile race so I'm satisfied with the results. What would you do differently?: Practice running a mile and negative splitting. Sub 5 is off my bucket list so I guess 4'45" is next? Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: No rest of any kind going into it. Was on a high volume-high intensity training week. Last updated: 2011-05-13 12:00 AM

Not much. A light jog and some strides with a bit of stretching. My right shin and calf was pretty sore/raw going into it so I didn't really want to deal with making it too painful before beating it up some more.
