Pre-race routine:

Picked up race packet, parked the car, and walked the bike over to transition to rack it. Ran into another club member doing the Oly route and we chatted. Did some warm up moves, and just hung out.

I forgot to eat something. Halfway up the hill, I remembered I had PowerBar Gel Blasts in my back pocket, so I chomped on a few of those, as my stomach was starting to growl.

Course: Off road through an abandoned park. Hillier than I imagined, based on the course profile they provided. It was a bit spooky, as the venue was an abandoned military housing complex. Broken streets, crumbly sidewalks. Weird.
