Comments: Whew. ORRRC races are tough. My garmin had problems finding satelittes for the first mile so I wasn't sure how fast I was running until I hit the first mile marker. Nothing quite like being in a smallish local race and having 35 people in front of you even though you dropped a 6:36 mile! The next two miles consisted of a solitary runner catching me every two minutes or so, but with the lack of training I've done since the IM last September I'll take the 21:22 (which is my 2nd best 5K time ever). I'll have to mark this race on my calendar next year...might be a good place to finally get a sub 20. What would you do differently?: Train more! Post race
Warm down: I hung around waiting to see if I podium'ed. I hit that magic 4th place again! 3rd place was 19:XX though so at least it wasn't close. What limited your ability to perform faster: As always... a lack of training! Event comments: Nothing beats a $3 race! Last updated: 2011-05-17 12:00 AM

I worked 9-5 then slowly made my way up I-75 to Vandalia. I checked in with my team (Go Speedy Feet/Up & Running!) and chatted with some folks waiting for the race to begin. I'm glad we could sit inside the rec center... it was nasty outside today!
I stretched out my Achilles tendon a bit. The rest of my warmup consisted of shivering.
