Run
Comments: Not my best finish or effort. However, with long runs of 13, 15, 17, and 20 only, I guess it wasn't so bad. I never went over 30 miles in a week due to work. I was out to enjoy a long run with my wife and not injure myself for Ragnar Chicago. Being the anchor and needing to cover 40 miles in a few weeks means I just didn't need to take any chances. First 16 miles were great at 9:30 - just like planned. Ran with my wife and she really struggled with the wind once we hit miles 16-22 which were dead into a headwind. It was just brutal! 25+ constant with gusts to 35! She is a much stronger runner than I, but hates the wind. Then I started cramping at mile 22. Great seeing my kids, in-laws, and mom out there. Slapped my boys hands as we ran around Lambeau. My wife's hat blew onto the field and she was very excited that her hat touched such hallowed ground. What would you do differently?: Run more even if it is at night just to get the miles in. I would also drink a bit more. I think I only took one cup that whole 6 miles into the headwind because I just wanted it to be done. Post race
Warm down: Talked to in-laws, mom, and kids. Walked back to car, drove back to hotel for a shower and the kids played in the pool. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of training miles this year, wind, and not drinking enough. Last updated: 2011-04-15 12:00 AM

Up at 5am. Brought a toaster, so had my typical bagel with peanut butter and English muffin with my wife's homemade strawberry jelly - nothing better! Went to McDs to get coffee then went to Lambeau to sit and wait.
Stayed inside as long as possible to stay warm - cool and windy!
