Subject: Ever just walk around in your wetsuit?

I spent the last 4 hours (feels like it anyway) putting on my wetsuit unaided for the first time. I'd tried it on at the store, but this was the first time on my own. I'm kinda hanging out in it for awhile to get used to the constricted feeling. Maybe that will help on race day? Has anyone done this just to get used to the thing?

Tip: don't try to put on a wetsuit with young kittens around.

2nd tip: be sure you're alone if you're going to walk around in a wetsuit and slippers.

I put mine on at the gym pool first time. By the time I had it only partially on I was so sweaty and literally pooped I had to rest in the middle. Wet skin and wet suits do not go together.

Swimming in the pool with it on to get used to the constiction around the throat was good, but the water was so warm I was sweating again.

Took the local coaches recco and took it off in the water. Finally cooled down.

dont forget, a plastic bag over your hands and feet when putting the suit on works wonders.

place plastic bag over your first foot and put it through the leg of the suit, then pull the bag out, repeat for the other foot, and each hand!

I put mine on at home the day I bought it. My husband laughed pretty consistently for the 10 minutes it took me to get the darn thing on. I would have thought it took about a half hour but I was timing myself so I knew it was only 10 minutes. My son thought that the burping of the top was hysterical. I didn't really hang out in it but I did have to rest a few minutes before I tried to get out of the darn thing.

I'm due for another practice session this week because I have to actually swim in the suit in a few weeks.

I just started this past year wearing it for a while the day(s) before a race to stretch it out a bit and to get the feel of it. I'm not saying it normal...
