Swim
Comments: The event I was sure would be my best was by far my worst. I started fast, had a quick first 50 w/ decent turn, by the end of 100 I knew I was in trouble. I went out too fast and at the 125 mark was having trouble breathing. I felt panicky -unlike anything I had experienced in practice. I finished the 3rd lap with the breast stroke to get my breath back. from there I changed back to the crawl and was able to finish, but I was uncomfortable the rest of the way. I(and about 25 others) missed the timing mat entering the transition area so I dont know the exact time. the Swim plus T1 was 12:26. I think i was around 9 min on the swim based on the time I started and when I got out of the pool. But also didnt start my watch so I dont really know. What would you do differently?: Start my timer with the start. Try to contain my nerves/start at a reasonable pace and save my kick for the end. RELAX Transition 1
Comments: overall i felt good about this. watched a video the night before about different ways to start the ride. gonna practice something other than the static stepover then mount. Bike
Comments: Due to an accident I had pre-race, I was trainging on my mountain bike, so this was my first ride on my road bike after it got out of the shop. Needed more time in the aerobars. What would you do differently?: practice more in the aerobars. ride more. Transition 2
What would you do differently?: no problems. Run
Comments: I ran faster than I practiced and felt good. this was, surprisingly, the highlight of my race. That said, I need to get faster and to be able to run longer if im going to make it through the Oly in Sept. What would you do differently?: Run more, build volume. Post race
