Overall Rank = 42/265
Age Group = M40-49
Age Group Rank = 7/27
Pre-race routine:

Got up at about 5:30, took a shower and ate some kashi cinnamon harvest cereal. Got my stuff loaded in the van while my BIGEST fan got the chearing squade together.
Event warmup:

Just enjoyed the morning. It was a beautiful day, much warmer than last year.
Swim
  • 10m 33s
  • 500 meters
  • 02m 07s / 100 meters
Comments:

People need to listen at the pre race meetings! I am sorry about the elbow to who ever it was, but if I am swatting your feet for 2 lengths, I am going to force my way by! If you are slower than the person behind you, then let them by or go faster!
What would you do differently?:

My swimming is coming along great! There is always room for improvment though.
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

Included in bike. Shirt got tied up because of wet skin. But overall it went really well.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe bring a towel so shirt doesn't get stuck?
Bike
  • 33m 12s
  • 16 kms
  • 28.92 km/hr
Comments:

Felt really good on the bike, but after comparing myself to the rest of the groupers, I need to pick it up a little. There are a couple of spots that I can work on, my cornering and my hills (great on the way down, slow on the way up). Need to get my areo base up as well.
What would you do differently?:

Get on my bike more!
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

Included in bike. I thought that my transitions really improved this year. I was in and out very quick in this one. Shoes off, shoes on, get moving, turn number, put on hat and start-up N+...
What would you do differently?:

I think this one went really well, I am not sure what to do to improve it. I am sure I can trim time, just keep it simple and let it flow.
Run
  • 15m 57s
  • 3 kms
  • 05m 19s  min/km
Comments:

Legs felt a little weak, had a good finishing kick and past the person I was battling all race. That was fun...
What would you do differently?:

I think my leg weakness stemmed from the bike. So I need to concentrate more on building my bike up and my run should follow.
Post race
Warm down:

Ate some of the food, cheared on the other racers, broke down my transition and enjoyed the post race draws (one day I will win something...)

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Bike, need to increase muscle endurance.

Event comments:

I had a great time at this race and finished almost 11 minutes faster than last year!!! wahoo!!!
