two sandwiches with peanut-butter, one banana, one protein shake
Event warmup:

loose run for 6 minutes.

Comments:

Trouble in the beginning; lots of slow runners starting in the wrong lane. Lots of bouncing. After 6 minutes found a platoon of Navy dudes; run with them for ten minutes; found my pace. Last two miles increased the speed.
What would you do differently?:

Start closer to the start line. Go a little faster in the middle part. Plenty of reserves at the end.

Warm down:

Waited for my wife Mirjam. 1.25.00 Good for somebody just started to run. She ran the whole 8 miles.
