^^^^My pleasure! I was the guy in the Hawaiian outfit on the waterway. Recognized a few of you, but hope I got in everyone's face!

Well you made me run faster. I thought "this guy is nuts". I heard someone say "who the hell is that?" It was nice to have something to laugh at. Crowd support was just amazing.

That was you TJ? You were my favorite fan on the run course. I was the 50+ year old woman who opted to 'power walk' the marathon. You kept a big smile on my face the entire way. I looked forward to coming round to see you each lap! Thank you for your support!

Well........Undecided

The Texas heat got the best of me. The back half of the bike when the wind started picking up I knew it might not be the day I was hoping for. By time I got to the run, my hopes of keeping a decent pace were dashed and it became just keep moving forward.

Overall I loved the course. If most roads in Texas are in that good of condition you folks are lucky. I didn't preride or drive the course so in the back of my head I kept thinking there was a hill coming and a stretch of chip and seal. That stretch of chip and seal is a nice road where I live. And for me the course "rollled" at best.

Thought the run course was cool, the along the waterway was super nice.

Overall, awesome city, great course, just wish I didn't stay out there as long as I did.

Thanks for being out there TJ. If you were the one by the kayak rentals than I remember you. The swim shop signs were nice as well. The supporters I remember the most were the devil and his comments (said he knew my in-laws and that he came to get hell back), the senior woman with the rainbow glasses sitting in the middle of an intersection with rainbow glasses, the woman volunteer by the lake shaking pom poms, and the little blonde girl jumping up and down towards the transition with a sign that said, "run faster, I just farted". So many great fans out there!!!

Less than a year ago I couldn't swim a lap in a pool and had only done a few sprints in October. Out of the blue I decided to do IMTX. Man, all of the training and sacrifices were worth it. I never felt miserable, never felt hot, and truly enjoyed every minute. Right now my body says ouch but I can see myself doing this again.

I can't freaking believe you picked me out on the run course! Impressive! It finally hit me on Sunday who you are... TJ!

I certainly did appreciate a hug and a high-five from a nice piece of pace booty!

THANKS!

Well... that race was hard. VERY HARD. In fact, it was harder than Ironman Kentucky was for me in 2008. I added 23 minutes to my finishing time... AND I walked the ENTIRE marathon in Kentucky!

Just didn't get any heat training in this year, since it is May. The heat was a killer on the bike course. And having warm water at all the bike aid stations didn't help. Thank goodness the run aid stations had ice!

Solid swim, decent bike, suffer-fest on the run. I couldn't tell you how many times I was about to quit on the run. The parts where we had to go on the dark path with no light- MISERABLE. I was whimpering through those parts.

I'm glad I finished. P@ssed off at my finishing time. But I finished.

Otherwise, the part where we ran the canal... amazing! Loved the crowd support. Outside of the canal? A bit desolate, except for the aid stations. Made it a hard run course for me.

I saw Karen and Amy at the banquet. I was one table behind them in the back. Should have said hi but was soaking everything in. Don't know about most but the banquet food was good in my opinion. How about the guy that lost 230 lbs! I had so much fun over the weekend I almost dont want to do another one to ruin this experience/feeling. However, I think I am hooked. I liked the course a lot.

It was great meeting all of you, it'll be interesting reading about how your day went. My day was interesting. I finished way after where I planned but still finished. Silver lining was that Chrissie Wellington happened to stop by and gave me my medal, a huge smile, and a great hug. For all those who were wondering, I made it to Dallas just fine, caught all my flights and made it back to Virginia Beach and my daughter's first communion with 25 minutes to spare. The huge smile and the extra long hug was worth it.

Congrats everyone on great racing. I have been lurking on this thread for awhile as I am planning to do the 2013 edition ... I have learned quite a bit, thank you all.

I thought the online registration was opening Sunday at 1pm eastern but can't find a link. Any suggestions? Did it sell out on site?

Nope. they haven't opened it up yet. There's an election for county commissioner in a week (the person who approves the road permits). So there's a little wait...

Just a reminder to everyone that the ST guys publish "Enhanced Race Results" for a lot of the IM races. They provide great data for every leg of the race that'll help you see how you did overall, within you AG, and within your gender. The numbers shown on the Ironman Live site show you what overall "place" you were in at the end of each leg. They provide your time for each leg, but they do not provide place or rank for the specific leg.....only for your overall standing in the race. The first time I tried to figure out the IronMan Live numbers I kind of confused myself, so I thought it might be worth mentioning to others.

For example, Caitlin Snow had the fastest run for the women and the third fastest run overall. If you look at her "Run Details" on IM Live, it shows her overall rank as 17 and her gender rank as 2. This is because she was in 17th place overall at the end of the run and in 2nd place for the women at the end of the run.

I expect the ST results for 2012 will be up in a day or two.

Yeah, wish you can said "hi"!

I liked the swim and bike course well enough. The run course, the part on the canal rocked... the other sections SUCKED. Especially in the dark.

Thanks for yelling at me when I gave my wife that "kill me now" look across the canal about mile 15.  Severe stomach cramps forced me to walk almost the entire marathon but I got it done thanks to all the great support along the course.

Now what?

Well, I reached one goal (sub 11:00), but missed the second (KQ).  I am moving and starting a new job in the next few weeks.  I am not sure I can train for Louisville how I will want/need to train to KQ.  Maybe next year I will be back for number 8 and to reach my goal.
