I'll be there as a spectator. It will be our first Triathalon viewed in person.

Our family is camping at Rancho Seco for the weekend so we can volunteer at Sunday's Super Sprint Tri and get a feel for how the race is organized. Then we'll be back for our first Tri participation in September.

Unfortunately I will miss this race due to work. I am going to do the Golden State Tri in Oct. in Sac.

I am excited for the race.  It is my first race of the season since I coach a spring sport.  I have done a couple of Oly's in the past.  I am in pretty good biking shape, running is so-so, swimming is good enough.  As much as I would love a PR, this is just a prep race for Ironman AZ, so while I should still do well, i won't push it too hard.

I am arriving race morning.  Is there a good place to meet and greet on race morning and at least say hello?  Good luck to all the racers.  See you there.

Hi,

This is a tune-up race for me as I'm 7 weeks out from the Vineman 140.6 in Santa Rosa.  Yes, it would be nice to say hello to another BTer.  I'm not sure that there's on place that makes for a good meet-up spot.  I've only been to this venue once before.

I do plan to get there early, check-in, and set up my transition area.  Maybe an exchange of phone numbers would work and we can coordinate a quick greeting that morning upon arrival? We could private message numbers if interested.

Looking at the run course map and Google earth: As you head into the parking lot where transition will be set up there are horse shoe pits just to the right. That might be a good spot to meet before the race.

I'll be wandering over from the tent camping area around 7:00 taking in the sights since this will be the first Tri I've seen live.

Good luck to you, and maybe I'll see you there.

Great. I'll be wearing a black cap with Vineman written on the front.

I am driving in from Petaluma on race morning.  See you all in a couple of days.  Haven't decided on specific race attire just yet.

Sorry I missed everyone!  I got to the race later than expected and then was scouring the car for the $10 for one day membership.  How did you do?  I did a 2:35 which was alright.  It was really a pace race and my paces were ok, so can't complain, but I think I should be able to push myself down to 2:20-2:28.

No worries. My daughter and I hung out near the horseshoe pits for about 5 minutes right after 7:00 am but there was so much to see we didn't wait any longer.

What a cool event. We were there at the swim start cheering on each wave and then moved to the swim exit to cheer everyone as they exited. After heading up and watching the first three competitors go through T2 we headed to the end of the grass just before the finish and cheered everyone on from there. So even if we didn't recognize each other my family was there cheering for you at least 3 times on the course.

We volunteered for the super sprint Sunday and handed water and Gatoraide out at the halfway point aide station on the run course. What a blast to cheer everyone on and help out. The event staff seemed to all be really friendly and helpful. We'll definietly volunteer for more events with TBF in the future. And we'll do our first tri with them in September.

Thanks for volunteering and cheering us on!  I was second in my age group out of the water (30-34).  So you probably saw me coming up in the ProMotion wetsuit looking a little ragged, but not too bad.  Transition for me was TERRIBLE, just so slow.  Need to practice them more often.

Anyhow, glad you had a good first go of it.  Planning on being in any races?

Is it a sleeveless ProMotion wetsuit with red? I do remember one ProMotion suit during the event. Looking at the results and your race report you had a top 10 swim time for the whole event. That’s awesome!

Yes my wife and I will be participating in our first Super Sprint Tri at the same venue in September. That’s why we chose Sunday’s Super Sprint to volunteer for: To see the course and have an idea what to expect. Then I’m hoping to do the Golden State Triathlon (sprint) in October.

Sorry I couldn't meet up with any of you.  I tried calling Panchito, but obviously with his situation we didn't manage to meet up.  As for the horseshoe pits, I didn't see them... oh well.

The race was a good learning experience for me.  I totally underestimated my caloric needs and bonked on the run.  I walked / ran the last 3 miles.  I had a great swim/bike though.  If I had hit my goal for the run, I'd probably have finished closer to 2:30.

Good luck Johnny on your race there.

Then I’m hoping to do the Golden State Triathlon (sprint) in October.

I'm hoping to come down the mountain for this race also.
