I too missed the deadline...did not get permission in time, but when I called the message says there is room in every race for the weekend for on site registration.

I hope to get in on Sunday to the Try a Tri.

How did everyones races go today?  I'm super excited - I got my first AG podium (I'm confused whether it was 2 or 3 because the first place person has WAVUP beside their name and I don't know what that means - they called me as second in the awards)!  I used to regularly podium when they had the C/A categories in Ontario, but they are gone now.

I swear I head some guy talking about BT before the swim cap - he was wearing a blue cap before the early race.  I also saw one of you finishing the swim in the give it a try (also a blue cap).  I yelled "Go BT!".

Alex - congrats on a solid first tri. From your race report it sounds like you had a good time doing it.

Laura - A podium finish! Well deserved!

I had a fun time but my race performance was sub-par. I screwed up my swim and never recovered.

I ran into Ray Vachon but did not see anyone else.

I'm just hoping for warmer weather with less wind at Binbrook next week.

Thanks Mark !

Quick question for all of you folks: How do you get through the numb feet during the bike ? I had a really hard time to feel my toes during the bike portion and it took me several minutes to warmup my foot during the run... Do you put warm stuff in your cycling shoes or what ??? Laughing

There is only one thing that helps me with cold feet - biking faster. Smile

In weather like this, the sooner I get off the bike the sooner I can thaw out.

Probably was me coming out of the water with my BT top on in the try a tri. I also met Ray Vachon for the first time.  Met him in the water before the swim start.

I had a pretty good day.  was supposed to sprint.   Due to health issues training was on hold for almost 5 weeks, still pulled a podium out.  3rd OA 1st mens 30-34

I sincerely hope you all had a fun day, congrats to all, good luck in the future

I didn't feel I had that great a day but apparently I still managed an AG podium, 21st OA.  Swim was way harder than I expected but it was only my 2nd time doing an OWS, 1st in a race situation.  Glad I decided to wear the wetsuit...probably saved my life..lol.

Met a few new faces, including Jon (aka B12 Bomber) which was cool.

I have the Welland sprint in a couple weeks, now I'm kind of anxious about the longer swim. Undecided

Well done Laura!!! Congratulations. I'm probably one of the guys you passed on the run.

I only saw one guy in BT garb, and just didn't have enough energy left after the tri to strike up a conversation.

Numb feet can be caused by incorrect cleat positioning. Shoes too tight is another possibility. I would be reluctant to say for certain that it was caused by the cold if you're referring to yesterday. Does it happen to you on warmer days as well? Some cycling shoes have options of different types of insoles which accommodate everything from high arches to fallen ones, and if you have the wrong type for your feet it can cause the same issue.

No, it was the first time it happened in all my ride. This is why I think it is due to the weather yesterday...

I raced Sat, turned out to be the better weather day, contrary to forecast.  No rain, not much wind.  Great race for me, 2nd AG, and 11th overall women (~top 10%) in bike.  Multisport is even better this yr - colour shirt, chocolate milk, Hero burgers.  Although the burger line up was quite long later in the day.  And I love the switch to Sportstats, much more meaningful results by gender (for us girls) and you can sort however you want.  And one click on the camera icon beside your name, or anyone else, and it goes to Mike's fantastic pix.  Too cool.  Wish I got to meet some of you.

Well done Patricia on an outstanding result!!!

It was a good event Sunday as well.

The burger lineup was a little rediculous so didn't bother, but if that's the worst thing of the day then I'd call it a success.

Felt the different tents could have been labelled better, and the distance signs on the tri run were a little sparse, but it was definitely a fun day.
