Swim
Comments: OK so this was horrible as expected, but I have never ever thought about bailing in the swim portion. I hung onto the kayaks 2 or 3 times (I lost count) I made it past the 200m bouy and I just about threw in the towel. What would you do differently?: I need to get in the water. Transition 1
Comments: So the chips that element events are using kinda sucked, rather than the normal round low profile chips we are all familiar with, they are using a rectangular higher profile chip, which caused the wetsuit to get stuck on the way off. What would you do differently?: I put socks on cause it was cold. I took the time to dry my feet off and put a vest on b/c it was chilly and this was a fun race. Bike
Comments: Was working the hills, treated this race more as a work out. I haven't had a ton of time on the bike and considering Island lake is more "hilly" than anywhere I would normally ride, I though it wasn't too bad. Transition 2
Comments: was an ok transition, not trying to set land speed records Run
Comments: Was an ok run, legs were a little tired. Post race
Warm down: walked around, tried not to hack up a lung. met AeroBaldness, gave dad a hard time (he beat me by a few min) Last updated: 2011-05-28 12:00 AM

Didn't decide until about 8 oclock last night that I was going to run this race. I wasn't registered and haven't been in the water in over 18 month (yikes). With some special prodding I figured it'd be a good workout.
Did some light jogging, got in the water, did some light swimming.
