Pre-race routine:

Peanut butter toast and some water. Two gels right before the swim
Event warmup:

A little running and a little swimming.
Swim
  • 33m 47s
  • 1640 yards
  • 02m 04s / 100 yards
Comments:

I was really happy with my swim. I've only been swimming in the crawl position for about a year and this is a huge improvement for me.
What would you do differently?:

Sight a little better. A few times I was way outside and could have held a better line. I also would not have worried about the seaweed on my face the last 200 yards or so. I pulled on it and that dislodged my right goggle. So I had to swim with one eye the rest of the race.
Transition 1
  • 02m 23s
Comments:

A little slow, but I was happy.
What would you do differently?:

Jog not walk so much.
Bike
  • 1h 23m 55s
  • 24 miles
  • 17.16 mile/hr
Comments:

My bike sucks. I'm getting 1 gear for every two shifts. It's been tuned twice, but I think the bike just sucks balls
What would you do differently?:

Save my money and buy a new bike.
Transition 2
  • 01m 54s
Comments:

I needed a gel and thank God my buddy Sebs was there with a gel packing up his stuff from the sprint.
What would you do differently?:

Not stop and talk.
Run
  • 57m 44s
  • 6.2 miles
  • 09m 19s  min/mile
Comments:

I felt good. My goal was to be under 10 minute miles for the 10K and that is what I did. I cramped a little in my quads so I should have drank a little more, but I felt pretty good overall.
What would you do differently?:

Train more.
Post race
Warm down:

Get in the lake and cool my body down. Get some water and walk around

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of training.

Event comments:

This was my first attempt at Olymipic distance and my goal was to be under 3 hours. i just made it, but I made it so I'm happy.
