Pre-race routine:

up early for coffee and some ceralyte, 30 minute drive to Weston from Miami... everglades very pretty so early

jogging and waiting for the Publix to open so I could poop. :))

Comments:

I used my metronome for the first time and I think I need to slow it down until my legs are stronger. I couldn't step that quickly after the halfway mark.
What would you do differently?:

Run more during the week. Run a bit further...it's time to add a bit of mileage.

I may start taping my injured foot. It's coming along, but if I don't step VERY lightly, it hurst.

I wouldn't attempt a black series trail run the day before. ouch!

Walked around the town square with 1300 other people! ate banana and mix1

What limited your ability to perform faster:

lack of fitness

Event comments:

They had kids at the water stations and they weren't real good at handing out water. It's a skill. But there's no real need for water during a 5k if you are in shape. I stopped at both and walked. I will bring my own water next time. I hate the fuel belt, but it IS what it IS, yes? good race, new PR
