Subject: Visiting Minneapolis looking for bike rental
Hi, I'm coming for a short visit and if I can find a bike store to rent me a road bike for a weekend then I will do that instead of bringing mine on the plane. So, I'm looking for recommendations for a local bike store that could help. Searching online I found Freewheel bike so I've spoken to them. Thanks for any and all a suggestions.Amy

i dont where in the twin cities you will be, but there is a shop in wayzata (The Epic Grind) that rents Orbea road bikes. I have never dealt with the place but saw it in the paper few weeks ago

Penn Cycle also rents road bikes.  I think they have the Trek line for rent; but the also sell Cervelo and Gary Fischer.  Not sure if they rent those brands.

I have also had good luck with Erik's Bike shop as others have suggested.

Thanks everybody this is helpful. I have to say based on my limited online research it seems that Minneapolis has a huge cycling community.

depending on where you are staying.  ie downtown.  Freewheel is only 2 blocks away from a Light Rail Stop, which you can grab from downtown.  If you dont have a car.

Amy, check out www.velolet.com/freewheelbike

You can view their inventory and book/pay/waivers online and then you'll be able to pickup and ride immediately.

They have about a dozen Trek 2.1's
