I'm getting pretty excited for the Steamboat Lake Sprint on July 24th.  I was just up there to check out the bike course and it's gorgeous.  Running trails still had some snow on them.  Anyone ever run on the trail system by the lake?  I know it's a new race, but I'm curious how wide and what type of footing the trail is.  Who else is headed up?  Rumor is the race only has 100 spots left and being a Without Limits event I have no doubt it'll be great all around.

Take lots of pictures and write a race report.  I'm working with Denver Triathlon this year, and it's the same weekend so I'm out.  Would love to do this in the future though.  And you're right, Without Limits does a phenomenal job- I'm sure everyone will be happy!

Thanks Matt,

This one's definitely a future "must do", wait till you see some video footage of the course!

Just a quick note guys for anyone hoping to camp.  Steamboat Lake State Park has sold out all cabin reservations and there's a few remaining tent campsites left, but they'll be gone in a couple days.

Did the open water swim today and the water was cool without a wetsuit but like anything else once you got in and started swimming it felt great.  My daughter swam at the beach and had a ball.  I live up here so it will be cold in the morning so be prepared with warm gear in the transition area while your getting your bike ready.

Storms have been moving in around 4:00.  There will be one more OWS on Saturday from 2 to 5.

I won't be racing next weekend, big race coming up.  But will volunteer in a kayak for the race.

You all have fun and see you up here.
