I've heard you can't swim up there at some point b/f the race but when is that exactly? Seems strange that they can dictate that anytime b/f the big day but that's what I've heard.

I swam there last year on Thursday evening, I think (maybe it was Wed).  I think they close the area on Friday since you can set up T1 there Friday afternoon.  But you could probably swim somewhere else along the shore on Friday as well.  There are also other lakes around Boise that folks swim in that are similar in temp to LP.  There's one in Veteran's Park that a lot of people use.

OK thanks, haven't swam in that one yet, been using Clocktower but the water is 60 something there.

Think I'm going to give LP a try Sunday, brrrr.

Hi!

Just wanted to respond to thread. I did swim at LP on Sun and Mon and was told the temp was 53, yowza! It numbs your face, freakin cold! I was only in the water about 20-25min and my body did fine in the wetsuit but it was my face and feet and hands that really felt it. Maybe the sun will come out more this week to warm it up, pray hard.

Thanks!  Looks like the weather will be sunny and warm the next few days up there, so it should warm up to mid-50s at least.  I've been swimming in 50 degree water here, so I'm acclimated, I hope.
