Sylvan Beach - Who's in?

I really wanted to do this one, but I am just not there on the run.  I ended up walking about 1/2 a mile at Tejas last weekend and it was only 3 miles (not to mention the bike and swim were shorter than Sylvan).

Guess I have to save a few races for my second season.

Great schedule!  I'll see you at all 3 of those.  Oilman (Ironstar) is a great race!  Did it the first time last year and really enjoyed it.  A bit chilly at the start(33 degrees), but I'm not sure what else I expected for November!

I'll see you @ 2 of the 3.  Maybe Oilman depending how I feel after Austin 70.3.

We were going to do this as a family relay with me swimming, Ken biking and our 16 year old son running but honestly we have all fallen off training. I've done Kemah and Clear Lake so the swim doesn't really worry me but I would want to do well in a relay. Our son has been running but hasn't hit 5 yet in practice and knowing this is a tough/hot run it might not be the best timing. I think we might be doing the new Shadow Creek Ranch tri instead.

I'd recommend trying to fit it in even if you're still worn out from Austin.  I'll be racing Austin, but am throwing Oilman in just because it's a fun race with a good atmosphere...not to mention a beautiful bike course.

I'm in! Last year I said I didn't think it could be possible to have a hotter run...let's pray for a cold front.

Got ClearLake Oly and Oilman HIM on the schedule as well.

The Ironstar was definitely cold at the start!  I didn't have a wetsuit (1 of probably 3 people who didn't), my arms were numb and frozen before the turn out of the inlet.  I got a wetsuit in December and had a good Gulf Coast 1/2 IM in Panama City a month ago.

I'm 8 weeks into a 20 week IM training plan, contemplating registering for the Redman Full IM in OKC..

^ this (including Sylvan Beach) is my exact schedule for this year. Look forward to meeting some more BT folks.

I had a good race overall, but fell short of the podium.  9th place OA but 4th place AG.  Insane that 4 of the top 9 were M25-29...

I looked you up this morning and it looked like you had a good race... you were only about 30 seconds out of 3rd, and your times were faster than 1st place in the next AG.
