bstauffer12 - 2011-06-13 8:15 AM I was happy with my race, good swim (18:17), okay bike leg (I kept hearing this squeaking and after the race found my tire was rubbing against the frame), pitiful run...  UHCOOG, you blew past me around the 3 mile mark on the run.

Nice swim!  I could use some lessons from you!

Bike:  Ride a lot; Ride hard often

Run:  Run a lot; Run hard occasionally

Okay, now it's your turn to spend the countless hours it would take working on my technique!  Surprised

Thanks Andrew.  Train with a pull buoy a lot and work on lengthening out the distance per stroke.

Cool

Now if I could just put a good race together.  I almost always have 2 good legs out of 3.  Looks like I have a ton of pool time in my future between now and Austin.

A buddy and I are going down to Galveston this Saturday morning to swim and ride the IM 70.3 course if anyone’s interested in coming.  I’m leaving out of Cypress/Tomball a little after 5:00 am for you guys in the area..

Were you out there?  I don't see a Randy in the results.

No, did Tejas the weekend before and I'm not racing again till Bridgeland.  I originally wanted to do Sylvan, but I need a few more months for the extra distance.

Next year.

Great job, y'all! I only got to talk to uhcoog but you all had great times. I had fun and conquered a new distance. I ended up pretty low in my AG, but I did meet my goal time. I am gonna have to work harder to be ready for the olympic distance at Clear Lake.

This weekend?? I thought I signed up for June 10th. I think my heart just skipped. If it's this weekend, I am screwed on the run. Still building up after a short post-Kemah break.

Settle down.... it's June 10.  I think a few of us are in recovery/therapy over Kemah.

Thank you.  I can't tell you how many times I just looked at the website, the wall calendar then back to my watch.  Nothing like a mid-day panic to get you going.

1st time to do this race.  3rd tri overall.  Looking forward to it (now that I am not freaking out).

Really thinking about it since I DNS at Kemah.  Good news is today is my last day of antibiotics, and got a 60 mile ride in on sunday.

This is about the best alternative coming up I can think of plus the run is FLAT.

Dang it Keri now I'm itching to race again.

Well, I definitely needed a race to boost my spirits after Kemah before Bridgeland.

I ended up leaving for an overseas trip Friday before Kemah so DNS as well.

I want to sign up for Sylvan, problem is I don't know the date for my follow up trip yet hate to blow another set of race fees.

Don't think it normally sells out man.  Probably could wait a few weeks.

Keri,

I do not think USAT covers therapy as part of the ESIX insurance but you might want to check. Hope to see you back next year. Had no idea Kemah did such a number on you all though : ) Is that good or bad? Hopefully it's that one that you have to keep doing over and over and over trying to kick it's each year. Houston Tri opens soon...  Sylvan is a good race in June. Checkout the Sugar Land Tri too!

I know thats it for me. My mantra on the run was "no ambulance = PR" LOL

I had my first bad freak out in OW. Not sure why it took 4 years in tri's and my 3rd Kemah for it to happen but it hit hard. Met a great guy named Dennis on a kayak. Realized I could never tell my kids I surrendured my chip during the swim and got it done. Unfortunately drinking that much gulf water had an immediate and forceful impact on my digestive system. Let's just say I can tell you every one of the porta potties that were out of TP because I used them all. Even got a woman to let me in the public but locked bathrooms near the marina. My transition times look like I had a full wardrobe change and meal and my run time time suffered but I finished.  By the next day I was ready to sign up for 2013 and give that course what for. The third time was not the charm but surely the 4th time will be, right?
