Has anyon used Hammer Gel before? I tried it this weekend on a bike/run brick, taking it about 2 miles before my bike ended, And it was the best run I have ever had.

I've tried Hammer gel. I love the apple cinnamon flavor. It worked quite well for me.

I just switched to solely hammer products this season and I love 'em to.

Multi-hour perpetuem with a shot of gel for IMWI and 2 gel flasks for the run leg.

You guys recommend Heed and Gel instead of Gatorade or water and Gel?

I use gel and water or water/gatorade. I find gatorade is good for short periods of exercise but for longer work outs or events gatorade is too sweet for me. I haven't tried heed yet.

I'm hesitant to "recommend" anything but I can tell you what I've done. I use HEED in place of Gatorade but will always drink plenty of water. I use the Gels as a compliment to HEED.

You are right about hammer gel. It's great and easy to take. Some of those other gels are hard to swallow.

Absolutely!!!!

Gatorade is basically simple-sugar water w/ electrolytes...

We got some of these in our race packets last weekend. I was just about to swear of gels after trying Clif and PowerGel. Has anyone tried raspberry hammergel? I swear if I take one more and hate it I'll never go back...

apple cinnamon is great! tastes like baked apples.  The rasberry is pretty good as well tastes kind of like jelly.  I tried orange and wasn't a big fan.  But Hammergel is defintately better tasting than power gel, Gu, and the like.

I've been working out with Perpetuam, even in short hour runs....Plan on using it at IMCDA.  Mixed in a Hammer Gel for added flavor.

You should try their website. Lots of info and they have a discussion group where you can ask questions as well. They've been great with me!

In IMWI 2004 I used Sustained Energy and Hammer Gels throughout. Very boring, but had zero stomach issues.

In IMWI 2005 I used Gatorade Endurance w/Carbo-Pro. Felt like complete garbage two miles into the run. It was horrible. I'm switching back to Sustained Energy, this time I will mix different flavors of Hammer Gel for variety. They are a great company, and their products are far and away the best I've ever used.

Anyone want a full tub, minus two scoops of Gatorade Endurance cheap?????
