I'll start...add it in, keep it to about 50-100 words before leaving the next person to continue...

Tom's breath was visible in front of him, curly wisps of steam like vapour as he stepped outside, his running shoes crunching on the frosty grass. The cold hit him as he moved forward, closing the door behind him.

Dammit, he thought, not for the first time, why do I do this? Why do I get our of bed so early to train? His thoughts wandered back to his girlfriend still tucked up in bed inside. Hmmm, well, Brad would be waiting down at the corner, ready as usual to push him along on the morning run.

But as Tom jogged slowly down his drive, he suddenly became aware of something....odd. he couldn't put his finger on it. Wait...was that...

"Stupid neighbour's dog", he said under his breath.  Tom's neighbor, André, had let his Golden Retriever out early this morning.  "It never goes in it's own yard", Tom whispered, as he scraped the bottom of his new running shoes.  Until I moved to Canada, I never had this problem.

Tom paused...he had a great idea to get rid of the neighbours dog, once and for all. He would however need some body glide, an old Cervelo - he thanked his lucky stars he was living in Canada - and a swim cap.

He smiled as turned out of his driveway, unaware of the lingering smell off the bottom of his shoes, which was drifting south down the road...and coming to the attention of the Royal Canadian Mounted Policeman, who had been waiting silently in the dark for Tom. The Mounties's nose twitched, and he shuffled his feet This morning he hoped to nab those damn triathletes who had been tearing up his town.

Just then his radio crackled to life...
