Did they say if they will send out an email to all participants or only post on facebook.  I most likely won't have access to facebook or BT at 4PM tomorrow.

By the way, with all my worrying about the swim I totally forgot to worry about the rest of the race.  This could have been a blessing in disguise.

Hey,

Quick question - I understood that we must check in our run & bike gear bags tomorrow and that we should come with out special needs bags on race morning.

What do we do with the morning gear bag? I would assume we should bring it with us on race morning. Right or wrong?

Thanks!

Adam

Okay, another stupid question for the IM vets... Do we get any kind of T-shirt, or if we want an IM NYC shirt do we need to buy one?

For lake placid, when you crossed the finish line, they gave you a medal, a finishers hat and a finishers shirt. And some luke warm pizza if you are slow like me. Good luck.

AMB123 - 2012-08-09 7:58 PM At the briefing. They're gonna post yes/no on swim by 4pm Friday on Facebook. Much more helpful sounding article here: http://pleasantville.patch.com/articles/sewage-update-still-flowing... for sharing.  Although the details shared are totally disgusting, the key part towards the bottom was:

“There is no impact south of Yonkers,” he said. He noted that the Iron Man race involving swimming in the Hudson in NYC this weekend “should not be affected.”

I hope he's right!

Hey Adam,

Yes, you definitely want to bring your special needs bag with you in the morning.  This is the bag you will put your morning clothes in (you'll drop it off before you get on a ferry), but it is also the bag you're have access to at the end of the race.  So even the race doesn't end at transition, you'll have some clothes to put on if you want or whatever you have in that bag.  I usually put my cell phone and some money in there just in case a need something after the race.  With logistics of this race, I would highly recommend doing the same.

Good Morning Team.

Watching Fox 5 report on the Hudson. Sleepy Hollow looks brutal - parts of the Hudson is turning red. John Korff, race director says we should know about 2 pm. He did a great job with the interview.

You'll probably get an IMNYC finisher shirt... I did at IM CDA, which is the only other IM I've done.

Just read on a IMNY link that there will be a Medal/Hat/T at the finish line.

Guys I am SUPER excited for you and will be heartily cheering you on from run aide station at 125 th in Manhattan!  Good luck!

Welp, darn if the finish isn't 2 BLOCKS from where I live.  Just walked by it!!! Sigh.... making it real tempting to sign up for next year (still on the fence)

we must live near each other - I am 3 blocks from finish

Yeah, the 4pm news just reported that they have a fix in place for the leak and that the advisory will be lifted at 11pm tonight!  As I write this, they said that Ironman told them the swim is ON!!!!

Best of luck tomorrow everyone!  Have fun, stay disciplined, and when things get tough, SMILE!  Smile
