Just realized I haven't been on here much lately.  I was planning on the sprint for this one, but did something to my hip during Ragnar this past weekeend.  Tried to do an easy 3 miles last night and the pain was too much.  So, I'm out of the race - just dont' want to make it worse and not be able to do TC full in October.   BUT, I will be there cheering you all on and I have to be there early since I'm working the LUNA Chix booth - so I can bring over one of the LUNA Chix to take a photo with all BT'ers.  See y'all at the spider thingy

Sorry to hear that. Take care of yourself and heal up. Looking forward to seeing you again.

I'll try to stop by your booth after the race.

BikerGrrrl - 2011-08-23 9:45 AM I am not excited to be starting right before the men 35-44.  I guess I will be getting swam over...  Lovely.

ETA: 46 in my wave, so that's good.

So, what exactly is the problem with being crawled over by a bunch of young men? Kiss  I haven't found start times/waves for the 111.  Ideas?

Good point...

You start at 7:33.  link isn't obvious on their web site, I learned of it on Facebook:

http://assets.ngin.com/attachments/document/0020/6975/2011_Event_Timetable.pdf

I like how the plan is to take the novices and cram faster waves over the top of them.  I get that they don't want the race to take forever, but that's no way the welcome a newbie.

I think that's totally weird too.  The groups behind the novices will be very fast and intimidating.

Likewise... though, can I bring my non-BT neighbor to the photo. Maybe we can encourage him to join?

TriStar 111 peeps-

Did you check out the race briefing powerpoint?  Did you know we have transition bags and a changing tent?  Never dealt with bags before.  This adds a new level of thought to my packing this afternoon.

Is that just for the 111 people? If not, I'm really surprised not to see any other info about this before now! Stuffing a wetsuit into your bike transition bag would be a pain, me thinks...

I *think* it's just the 111, but who knows. Clear communication doesn't seem to be a strength of this race. Yell

Today the officials said the preliminary temp was in the "wetsuits optional" catagory. They'll check it again tomorrow of course.

Good luck everyone!! See you tomorrow! I'm in wave 16 for the Sprint.

i am really suprised if it is not wetsuit legal.  I was in the st Paul tri last weekend, and the water temp was mid 70's.  It should be a little cooler since then.....

Hey everyone - It was great to meet some of you today. For me it felt great to get back into doing tri's. For the most part I think it was well put on. Good food at the end (no limit), lots of volunteers, and great security.

Looking forward to meeting someone of you at future tri's or training events.

hey everyone,

hope you all did well today! It was great to see a good turn-out of BTers, and we missed MeXman, though I saw him on the run.

Overall beat the time I wanted. 2:36:32, 26:52 for the swim, 1:18 for T1(!), Bike and T2 together were 1:19:42, and the run was 48:41. Race report once results are up, though to ruin the punchline, i was the guy bleeding all over the place after the race. I fell pretty hard on Cty 19 when my tire slipped off the pavement onto the shoulder. Luckily, I only bent my left drop, and other than the road rash and severe bilateral calf cramping I had to work out, I was no worse for the wear.

Overall had fun, now off to drink beer...

Hey. I was the guy in front of you getting my gears fixed at the Maple Grove Bicycle tent. We talked a bunch. Again, glad to hear you are ok.

My times (on the sprint). 1:22:27 overall. 12:45 for the swim (yuck), 45:03 for the bike, and 20:46 on the run. Transitions about 2 minutes each. 5/23 in my age group (45-49).

Ryan - wow, sorry to hear about your accident!  Great times, though.   You surely passed me in the water and never saw you again, so I missed the accident.

It was fun meeting so many of you and talking before the race.  I had a pretty good race and if the bike hadn't been long, it would have been a PR.  I had a pretty good run for me, so that's a nice way to end the day.  I am waiting to see the official splits.  I have the time, more or less, on my Timex but didn't stop it at the end right away due to the crazy finishing "ramp."

Sorry i missed you guys this am at the jungle gym -rope thingy! I was pretty worked up about the swim. Ended the race 30 seconds under my max goal, which is good. I had a horrible swim though! I spent too much time on the outer banks and wasted too much effort zig-zagging back in line. Also, cramped a leg with a 1/4 to go and had to swim without the legs! Other than that, I had a great time. I got my tires blown off when Macca blew by me on the bike at MACH 1. Holy crap he was fast! I guess the Wheaties boxes don't go to the Age Groupers! =)To the guy who bit the dust on the bike and continued to finish the race. You passed me on the run and you brought me the best moment of the day! Any pain and head game I had going was quickly put to rest to see your determination to get it done! Thank You!

I wasn't at the race but have been trying to find results which apparently aren't up yet - very unusual for Pickle Events - they usually have them up within a couple of hours after the race.
