Which IM races do NOT sell out......

Elite  3140    |  Subject: Which IM races do NOT sell out..........in the first 15 minutes or first day. I am hoping to be ready for my first IM at the latter half of next year or early 2013 and after seeing IM NYC sellout in 9 minutes and hearing IMLP sells out within a half hour I was wondering what other North American IM's dont sell out immediately other than IMKY (which I heard was open till Feb)......just wondering what my options will be if I am not fast enough on the computer registration day....thanks |

TO add the new one in canada IMMT is not sold out IM cozumel,, doesn't sell out for a few months bassed on last years race I think IMTX is also still open a month after registration opened. |

Before it sells out, <100%. Other than that, I think the only way to tell is to email each race director individually. |

Depends on the RD. One time (2007 or 08) I emailed the RD to get a feel for how full IMKY was and he emailed me back and said "I expect it to sell out within a week". I think it actually stayed open a few more weeks but it got me off the dime and I signed up.

If you decide which one you want to do, volunteer for it in 2012 and then show up the next day in the volunteer line to register for it in 2013. I believe you are pretty much guarranteed a spot that way. |
