Socializing. Struggling with tri-tats system.

About 1 mile jog down to water. About 200m in the water.

I'm not a good swimmer, but this swim performance was good for me.
What would you do differently?:

Sight a little more often. I didn't swim razor sharp lines.
Also, still need that elusive draft.
Transition 1

This race had 3 transitions. T1 was swim-to-run. T2 was run-to-bike. T3 was bike-to-run. first transition was rough because I was dizzy from the swim and couldn't stay upright getting shoes on. Other transitions were good.
What would you do differently?:

Need to figure out how to slide running shoes on faster. Thinking of trying some vaseline on my insteps.

Bike was fine. Rode within myself, had fun.
Out of transition, there was a lot of riding uphill. Delayed putting my feet in my shoes longer than ever before because I wanted to be up to average pace first. Not sure if that was good or bad.
What would you do differently?:

I don't know...maybe I should bust out more on the bike. Won't know until I try it how it will affect my run.

Course: rectangle. Course was longer than advertised. About 500yards based on an analysis of the times of all the competitors. No one ever measured the water temp and announced it. My guess is 73-75. Since the swim was 1 mile away from the parking/transition area no one used a wetsuit because by the time we noticed the water temp it was too late to go get it.

Course: Actually 2 runs. First was 1 mile, 2nd was 2 miles. First run was all elevation gain. 7:09 mile. Looks like about :45 seconds penalty from climbing... 2nd run was 13:03, so about 6:30 pace. Felt strong and smooth.
