Pre-race routine:

Left the house at 4:30 and drove straight to the race.
Event warmup:

10 minute jog and stretch then got in the water for a short swim.

Comments:

bad bad swim! I was getting swam all over! my watch clasp came undone 3 times so I would stop and fix because I wasn't about to lose a $400 watch over a little sprint race. I don't know what went on, but my breathing was bad even. Never got into a rythem!
What would you do differently?:

Maybe I shouldn't start front and center. I should have pushed the first 200 quicker to put some distance on them.

I held back a lot here. I just ran comfortably knowing that I had to run a half marathon the next day in the 100+ degree heat.
What would you do differently?:

nothing, i ran smart considering what was the next day.

Warm down:

good stretch and lots of water.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I think I couldve easily ran a couple minutes faster had i not had to run the next day.
