I did the race many years ago and it was a lot of fun.  The 400m swim is in a 50 meter olympic swimming pool completed by snaking your way through 8 lanes.  Athletes are started 5 - 10 seconds apart.  This is perfect for athletes who have anxiety about open water swimming.  The course is well marked and the event is very well organized.    In my experience things went very well.

Did this one a ways back.   It was my first triathlon!

Pool swim in order of your bib number.  Every few seconds another person would start.   The neat thing was knowing that anyone with a lower # had started before.   So passing people became very interesting. as you knew roughly how long of a head start they had!

It was well run   except in one part.    Transition.    Super crowded event  they did not have enough racks (or a place to put them)  so many of us had to find a spot to lay our bikes down on the grass and set up there.   Not good  can you say bike scratches????

Needless to say I must have loved the event as I couldn't wait to do more.

I did it a few years back.  It was a lot of fun.  You swim in the pool and everyone is on the side watching you.  If you do flip turns, I would practice doing flip turns under the rope to the left.  That's right.  There are ropes in the pool that you go under... to the left.  No need for wetsuit.  I would practice putting on your top when wet, unless you want to swim with it on.   The transitions were in two different locations when I did it and there were no bike racks.  You just laid your bike on the ground.  Also there was no fence around  the transitions.  Though there were some volunteers watching over them.  The bike had a whole lot of turns through neighborhoods.  I got a bit turned around with what direction I was going.  There were plenty of volunteers directing at the turns.  you may need to practice going through turns in you aero bars.  The run is the usual.

Cool thing about this race is that if you podium, you get a nice size plaque to hang on the wall.

Nice friendly neighborhood race.

Everyone have a good race? Supposedly the results were to go up thirty minutes after last person crossed line but I haven't seen it or a link anywhere. Anyone have any luck?
