Headed up to Prescott this weekend, trying to find a good cycling route......does anyone know of any?  Is cycling on 89 allowed?  Thanks!

Starting out of Prescott you have some nice options.  Iron Springs road will take you out to Skull Valley, Willow Creek to 89A will take you to Jerome and Cottonwood, and 69 takes you back to Cordes Junction.  All are very nice bike routes and most have full shoulders similar to the Beeline.  Have fun.

Dean, if you know of any good running routes up there too, post em'! I've run on the Peavine Trail, which I liked a lot, but let me know if there are any other trails I can experiment with up there. I usually do long trail runs on Sundays. With it getting hotter and hotter, I might do a couple of drives up north for a run to escape these triple digits!

Adela, Granite Mountain has a bunch of intersecting trails that you can run at the base of the mountain, or turn it into a run/hike by going up trail 347 (I think). Also, thumb Butte has a short but fun trail around its base and going up as well.

If you don't mind street/sidewalk running, both Willow Creek Road and Iron Springs Road offer good climbing and sidewalks/bike lanes. Iron Springs Road gets out of the city fairly quickly and the bike lane goes away, but it's shady and scenic. Willow Creek has bike lane all the way out to Pioneer Parkway, but it is city most of the way and not as shady. Great views of Watson Lake, though.
