Pre-race routine:

Got up to the JCC about 4:00am to get a good spot on the bike rack. Ate some steel cut oats and a cup of OJ on my way out the door.
Event warmup:

Swam a couple of laps in the small pool and had a gel 45 min and 15 min before my swim start.
  • 10m 17s
  • 500 yards
  • 02m 04s / 100 yards

Have made some progress in the pool lately but it didn't show in the pool today, for some reason.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe focus on my stroke more...couln't quite put my finger on it...
Transition 1
  • 00m

All transition time was in the bike portion.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, I felt good about my T1 today!!!!
  • 38m 43s
  • 12.6 miles
  • 19.53 mile/hr

Really felt like I nailed the bike portion today!!! Cyclometer said 20.7mph average. All the transition time was in the bike today. Hit a gel 1/2 way thru thru the last loop and used just my aero bottle for water.
What would you do differently?:

Transition 2
  • 00m

Had a hard time getting my right shoe on, probably cost me 1 spot. The guy ahead of me was :04 faster....Went sockless with no issues.
What would you do differently?:

Get my dang shoe on!!!!
  • 14m 44s
  • 2 miles
  • 07m 22s  min/mile

Already hot by the run. Glad it was only 2 miles!!!! throweing cups of water down my back and on my head at the water stations.
What would you do differently?:

Not much.
Post race
Warm down:

Nothing much, just hung out with Todd(phxphotog)afterwards and waited for the results to be posted.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Just gotta keep pluggin' away. Really felt like I did good except for my swim.

Event comments:

Hadn't done a trifamily race in awhile, need to do more. Hung out with Todd before and after a had a great time!!!!
