I still like and respect Dr. Oz.  He doesn't strike me as the type of guy to pull a # out of his rear (in this case the 13 hour #).

I'll quote the same lines Fred did.

I can see why some people like him.  He's charismatic and convincing.  Respect?  I respect him as a doctor but as a TV doc, I have some huge issues with that word.  To me he seems EXACTLY like the kind of guy who would pull that number out of his rear.  As somebody pointed out before, he's endorsed the HCG diet previously.  Not exactly an objective or scientific opinion on his part.

TV docs get there because they're either charismatic or are willing to loudly voice their opinions whether or not they're correct.  I put more stock in people who I know are experts but the public may not be aware of.

Why is OZ wrong? Excessive anything is bad from a general life POV. Moderation has been time tested as the method of living longestest and healthiest. But moderation doesn't make you faster. 13 hours is a long time to workout if you add 40+ hours of week of work, family on top. We need sleep we need relaxation. Remember, training is Maccas job.
